By Sukurat Adewunmi and Khadijat Abdullahi

Nemesis caught up with an alleged serial rapist, Falomo Oluwasina, who is fond of raping young ladies after deceiving them into relationship.

It was gathered that the 33-years-old alleged rapist do lure the ladies into love affairs and make them believe he is a responsible boyfriend, who could be trusted after which he sexually harassed them.

Findings showed that the suspect does not only lure his victims for rape, he also snatches their belongings such as phones, jewelries, cash and other valuables.

It was gathered that the suspect has an accomplice, who usually drives him to the venue of his heinous crime, as the ladies were said to have claimed that the said driver, identified as Oyeniyi Sogo, always witnessed the incidents.

Unfortunately, the victims described the encounter with their assailant as horrible and degrading.

When the suspects were arraigned in court by the police, they were charged on eleven count charges bothering on stealing, armed robbery, rape, threat to life, assault, conspiracy among others.

However, the magistrate court lacks the jurisdiction to listen to some of the charges and this prompted the court to adjourn the matter despite plea by the prosecutor to begin trial.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector Joshua Oladoye, the issue of rape is becoming prevalent, hence, the need to detain the suspects to serve as deterrent to others in the society.

“Allowing them to walk as free men in the society may increase the tendency for others to do similar thing, hence, the need to handle them without levity”, he added.

However, the defence counsel, Mr Adeleke Lukman objected the position of the prosecutor, saying it is not yet time to seek remand for the suspects, saying there is need to allow them prove their innocence.

He sought the court’s mercy to admit the suspects to bail, saying they would not abuse it.

But, the magistrate ordered that the suspects be remanded in prison custody, especially as the court declined jurisdiction on some of the counts leveled against them.

He adjourned the matter till November 22, 2018.
