Service Disruption: Angry Customers Besiege Zenith Bank, Demand Release Of Their Monies
Following service disruptions in their network across the country, chaos erupted at Zenith Bank’s Abuja branch, as frustrated customers stormed the premises, protesting the bank’s failure to process transactions.
The customers, mostly parents seeking to pay hospital bills, were left stranded due to the bank’s technical issues.
In a trending video sighted by Osun Defender, a woman was heard lamenting her inability to treat her ailing one-month-old baby as a result of not getting funds.
“I will scatter this place! I just want to bring my child out. They have not attended to her. I have been quiet since. What kind of problem is this? I can’t even get my money. My baby is one month old, will the hospital treat her without money?”, she queried.
The situation quickly escalated as more customers joined the protest pulling down the iron bars used to fence the bank premises.
A visibly angry man, restrained by fellow customers, shouted, “Let’s burn down this bank!”
Amid the chaos, bank officials struggled to calm the crowd, apologizing for the inconvenience. However, their efforts were met with skepticism.
