Scores have lost their lives due to a clash between security operatives and members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) popularly known as Shi’a Muslims.
According to reports, the clash was due to the demand for the released of their detained leader Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
There has been no number of the deceased yet from the authorities but reports indicate that several people lost their lives.
Recall that a ban was issued last Friday by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Sadiq Bello, on protests and rallies at the popular Unity Fountain, Abuja venue of the #freeZakzaky daily sit-outs.
The members of the religious sect in defiance to the police order on Monday insisted on staging their peaceful protest around the Fountain; stressing that the ban was a breach to their constitutional rights.
