Several Injured As Danfo Bus Somersaults After Collision On Third Mainland Bridge
Several passengers sustained injuries on Monday when a commercial bus, commonly known as Danfo, somersaulted multiple times after colliding with a Toyota Camry on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
The crash occurred just before Adekunle Junction, inward Lagos Island.
According to the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS), no lives were lost in the incident.
Operatives of the RRS, including bikers and patrol teams, arrived promptly to administer first aid and assist the injured.
Personnel from the Adekunle Police Division also responded quickly and provided rescue support.
Emergency service providers were mobilised to ensure safe evacuation of the victims and to manage the scene.
In a statement, the RRS said, “A road accident between a Toyota Camry and a commercial bus ‘Danfo’ has left several passengers injured on 3rd Mainland Bridge.
“The accident occurred before Adekunle Junction, inward Lagos. The commercial bus sumersualting multiple times.
“RRS biker and patrol vehicles are assisting in helping on giving first aid to the injured passengers, while men of the Adekunle Police Division are equally on ground, and are providing rescue support.
“Emergency services providers have been mobilised. No life loss in the unfortunate incident. Free flow of vehicular movement has been restored and the ill-fated vehicles evacuated from the road.”
