Sexagenarian Docked For Assaulting Housewife In Osun

A 63-year old man, Emenalom Christopher, has been arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Osogbo, the State of Osun capital for allegedly assaulting one Kate Felix.

Prosecutor, Fagboyinbo Abiodun told the court that the accused on the 10th of January, 2018 around RingRoad area in Osogbo, threatened to assault Kate with a cutlass.

Abiodun said the accused also hit one Sotunde Kayode with a padlock on his head which all contravened sections 86, 252 and 249 (D) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws Of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.

However when his plea was read to him, Christopher pleaded not guilty of the offences and his counsel, Barrister Tunbosun Oladipupo prayed the court for his bail in the most liberal terms.

In his ruling, Magistrate Fatimo Sodamade granted the accused bail of N100,000 with one surety in the like sum and adjourned the case till February 12, 2018 for hearing.
