On sunday, fire razed some shops in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun.
Speaking with our correspondent, a shop owner, Demilade Yusuff, siad the source of the fire is still not known and remains mysterious, adding that many shop owners rushed down when the sad news got to them.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer for the state fire service, Ibrahim Adekunle, said an electrical appliance left unplugged in one of the affected shops was suspected to have caused the fire.
“The source of the fire yet unknown, but we suspect that an electrical appliance left plugged since Saturday led to the fire incident.
“Estimated loss could not be ascertained for now, but property saved is worth N100m. The situation is under control.
“It is sad and devastating but we controlled it”, he said
