Siblings Docked For Stoning Policeman On Duty

State of Osun Police Command was on Wednesday arraigned two siblings before Osogbo Magistrate court for stoning a police officer.
The siblings identified as Tadese Arolu and Tadese Cology was alleged on five count charge bothering on conspiracy, attempted murder and assault.
According to the charge presented to the court by the prosecutor, Mr. God Sunday, it read, “That you Tadese Arolu and Tadese Cology and others now at large on the 12th day of June, 2017 at about 1130hrs at Iwo did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit; attempted murder and assault occasioning harm and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 516 of the criminal code cap 34 vol. II Laws of Osun State 2002.
“The duo and other now at large did unlawfully assault one Sergeant Taiwo Ikusesan by hitting him with stone on his head which cause him injury on his head while he was on an official duty and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 356 (1) (2) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. II Laws of Osun State 2002.
“Did unlawfully obstruct one Sergeant Taiwo, a police officer while performing his lawful duty and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 197 of the criminal code cap 32 vol. II Laws of Osun state 2002.
The duo pleaded not guilty to all count charge preferred against them.
The Counsel to the two, Mr Naheem Adekilekun made an oral bail application on most liberal and affordable terms.
He said “the essence of bail is to allow the two accused face their trial.
The magistrate, Mrs. Fatimoh Sodamade in her ruling granted them bail of 500,000 each with one surety in like sum.
She thereby adjourned the case to September 11 to be mention at Iwo Magistrate court.
