Six Delta Reps Defect From PDP To APC
Six members of the House of Representatives from Delta State have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaker of the House, Abbas Tajuddeen, made the announcement during Tuesday’s plenary.
The defecting lawmakers are Victor Nwokolo, Julius Pondi, Thomas Ereyitomi, Nicholas Mutu, Okodiko Jonathan and Nnamdi Ezechi.
In a related development, two Labour Party members from Enugu State, Mark Obetta and Dennis Nnamdi, also defected—this time to the PDP.
The Speaker said the lawmakers attributed their defections to the lingering crises in their respective parties at both state and national levels.
OSUN DEFENDER recalls that Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, his predecessor Ifeanyi Okowa, and some other PDP leaders reportedly joined the APC last week.
The House has witnessed a wave of defections recently, mostly from opposition parties to the APC.
