A Kubwa Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Monday sentenced six persons to 10 months imprisonment each for impersonating as a retired military officers and joint act.
The judge, Mohammed Marafa, however, gave the convicts; William Patience, Dickson Haruna, Hans Natoms, Luka Dasen, Pankyes John and John Pricilia, N50,000 fine option.
Marafa said all the convicts were mature and committed the crime purposefully to cause financial loss to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and gains to themselves.
Patience, Haruna, Natoms, Dasen, John, and Pricilia, were convicted and sentenced on charges of a joint act, using forged documents and giving false information.
The prosecutor, Babajide Olanipekun, had told the court that Patience and Haruna, presented Dickson Haruna as Seargent William Makudanogun at the Military Pensions Board.
