Sokoto Deputy Governor Resigns

The Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, has officially resigned from office.

Mr Ahmed’s resignation letter was read by lawmakers of the state House of Assembly on Wednesday.

Although the letter is said to have been sent to the lawmakers since Tuesday.

The Deputy Governor is vying for the position of the governor of the state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He is expected to contest against his former boss, Governor Aminu Tambuwal in the 2019 general elections.

The lawmakers also confirmed that the Mr Aliyu was not forced to resign.
