Son Smashes Father To Death Over Money In Rivers

A teenager simply identified as Ikechi has smashed his father to death with a pestle at Rumuaghaolu in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

OSUN DEFENDER gathered that the suspect had requested an undisclosed amount of money from the father and became infuriated when the deceased refused to grant him his request.

According to an eyewitness, the enraged boy got hold of a pestle and smashed it on his father’s head.

The witness said the deceased died on the spot.

He said, “He was enraged over the father’s refusal to give him money yesterday (Thursday). The boy was suspected to be on drugs. He was asking his dad for money and he refused to give him. He carried the pestle and hit him.”

Rivers State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe Koko, confirmed the incident.

She said that the suspect had been arrested by the police.
