IPOB-The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has alleged Governors of the South Eastern Region.
The Organization alleged the Governors of collating names of its members to hand them over on the instruction of the federal government
The IPOB spokesman, Mr. Emma Powerful, made it known to newsmen on Saturday that the names collation by the Governors is with the aide of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and some traditional rulers in the region.
Meanwhile, attempts to hear from the Chairman, South East Governor, Dr. David Umahi for comment and clarification on the matter proven abortive.
You will recall that IPOB was outlawed as a terriorist group by the federal government considering their activities.
The group also accused the forum of Igbo leaders of planning to clamp down the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the security wing of the organization.
According to the spokesman, he said, “This wicked plans and moves by the governors and other characters involved was given birth by the Nigeria Government through her security operatives and it is with the hope of weaken IPOB and ESN.
“IPOB and ESN is making every efforts to accomplish part of its mission which is to flush out terrorists in the land.
“Our efforts to stop terrorists in the Eastern region have indisputably gathered strength and intensified since the formation of ESN, but regrettably, the politicians, government officials, traditional rulers and some power block are sabotaging these efforts.
“We are not unware that the South Eastern Governors in collaboration with the Traditional Rulers and communiites leaders are collating names of those they suspected to be IPOB members for them to hand over to Nigeria security agencies for possible executions.”
IPOB futher narrated that the purported clampdown was simply because they are threatened by the progress of ESN and they also see it as societal menace linking some actrocities to them.
Emma siad, “IPOB/ESN has nothing to do with those carrying out the attacks and we wonder why Government will continue to associate us with such without investigations.
Emma declared that the Nigeria Government cannot decimate the organization no matter what they do or intend to do and that their organization is free from criminal act.
