Stakeholders Congratulate New Owa Obokun Of Ijesaland, Oba Haastrup

 

More congratulatory messages are pouring in for Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup Ajimoko III, the new Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland,

Osun Defender had reported that Governor Ademola Adeleke had on Sunday presented staff of office and instrument of appointment to Oba Haastrup amidst fanfare and excitement after his appointment last Friday.

Governor Ademola Adeleke urged Oba Haastrup to “leverage his extensive experience and global network to foster development in Ijesaland.”

The governor also called on Ijesa indigenes to rally behind the monarch, pledging his administration’s commitment to enhancing development across Osun State, including Ijesaland.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Haastrup unveiled plans to establish a vocational school to train artisans aimed at boosting local production.

“The time for the contest is now over. Let us come together and unite to build a stronger and more prosperous future for all the people of Ijesaland. For me, there is ‘No Victor, No Vanquished!’” he declared.

In a congratulatory message to the Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adewale Akanbi described Oba Adesuyi as a golden fish and a monumental asset, not only to Ijesaland but also to the entire Yoruba traditional institution.

He expressed optimism in the honour and glory the monarch will facilitate to the land and called on the people to drum unwavering support for the new king.

Oluwo through his Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem, said, “I want to appeal to the good people of Ijeshaland to drum an unwavering support for the new Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup.

“He is an accomplished entrepreneur, widely connected and experienced administrator. I have strong hopes for his ability to improve the tempo of traditional governance in Ijeshaland. Oba Adesuyi will take nothing from you. He only needs your support and encouragement”

“Owa Obokun is a golden fish who doesnt have to sell your land or illegally mine your natural resources before catering for his throne. He is an asset you should protect, guard and encourage to bring out the best in Ijeshaland”

“The traditional tempo of leadership will be improved. I see him navigating a new path full of hope for the land. I’m seeing a saviour who will join hands with progressive stakeholders to move Yorubaland forward.”

Also felicitating the monarch, the Bobajiroro of Ilesa, Engr. Dideolu Falobi described Oba Haastrup’s ascension to the throne of his forebears to the benevolence of God in his life.

Engr. Falobi expressed confidence in the new Owa Obokun’s capacity to sustain and raise the development pedestal of Ijesaland during his reign.

The statement reads, “I extend the warmest congratulations of my family and I to you on your ascension to the throne of your forefathers, the ancient and revered throne of Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount ruler of Ijesaland.

“Your appointment is a testament to the grace and benevolence of the almighty God in your life and I am confident that your leadership will bring peace, unity, and progress to our people and kingdom.

“Given your antecedents, I am sure that your appointment will not only sustain the train of development already on the move in Ijesaland, it will enhance the speed and perfect its course.

“As one of the honorary chiefs of the kingdom, I pledge my loyalty and support to your majesty. I am committed to working closely with you to promote the interests of our kingdom and ensure the well-being of our citizens. May your reign be long, peaceful, and prosperous. Amen,” Falobi stated.

In addition, the Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi appealed to Oba Haastrup, who is the new Deputy Chairman of the Osun State Council of Obas, to move quickly in extending the olive branch to other contestants, especially of his Bilaro Ruling House, for the peace and progress of Ijesaland.

Fasuyi said, “The developmental tasks ahead of our new Imperial Majesty are not only very huge but also very demanding and we cannot afford to distract him, hence, my sincere appeal to all aggrieved parties in this royal contest to sheath their respective swords in order for us to sustain the tempo of our sustainable development in Ijesaland.

“Yeye Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Dr Olubisi Fasuyi and I heartily felicitate with your Imperial Majesty on your historic enthronement, today. In a similar vein, I wish to convey the heartfelt congratulations of the revered Trustees, Management, and esteemed Members of Ijesa Community Development Assembly (ICDA)- the Frontline Ijesaland Community Developers to your Imperial Majesty on the ascension to the throne of your ancestors.
