The second film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi, is almost here and we are dying from excitement.
The first film Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) was set 30 years after the movie Return of the Jedi. In the movie, Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron searched for Luke Skywalker and fought alongside the Resistance, led by veterans of the Rebel Alliance, against Kylo Ren and the First Order, a successor to the Galactic Empire.
The American epic space opera film was written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Lucasfilm.
It stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, and Gwendoline Christie in returning roles. New cast members include Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern, and Benicio del Toro. Fisher died in December 2016, making The Last Jedi her final film role.
The Last Jedi is scheduled for release on December 15, 2017.
