Stepmother Arrested For Torturing Toddlers In Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 37-year-old woman, Fatima Abubakar, for allegedly torturing two toddlers under her care.
She was arrested in Yola South Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect was said to had physically assaulted a 2-year-old girl and a young boy.
The police spokesperson, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the arrest on Monday, said investigations uncovered that she subjected the children to abuse because they urinated and defecated inside the house.

He said neighbours reported that Fatima, who is childless, had a history of mistreating the children, including denying them food and warning others not to interfere in her affairs.
Upon her arrest on Saturday, Fatima confessed to the crimes, he added.
He said Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo has ordered that Fatima be charged to court for prosecution.
