Bishop Wale Oke, the President of the PFN- Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, has called on the Presidency and President Muhammadu Buhari to stop hiding his health status.

Oke, at a press briefing in Lagos today, stated that hiding the health of the president is uncivilized because he is no longer a private person.

Oke explained that the body of Christ is concerned about the President’s health, his annual medical trip and also bothered about the state of the country’s health facilities.

He said, โ€œAs a Christian body, we are praying for our President for good health. He was out of the country for two weeks on health matters and we are bothered, we feel that the nation is not being told the truth. We ask that the Presidency should lay the cards on the table and tell exact state of Mr. President so we will know how to direct our prayers.”

He also questioned why the President preferred foreign health care to that of the country, considering the huge amount of money allocated annually.

He said, โ€œAgain, we are concerned that whenever our President needs a medical check up, he will have to travels abroad. To us, it is a major national security risk.

“The question in our mind is that, does it mean our President is safer in the hands of foreigners medical experts than our indigenous experts? Why should our elected officers always travels at will for health care when they can make our health sector functionalโ€?

Oke called on the Federal Government to wake up to its first and primary responsibility of protecting lives and properties.

He said, “PFN is holding on the opinion that the government should not by any means negotiate with bandits, doing so is an admittance of administrative and governmental failure.

“Bandits are not to be negotiated with, they are meant to face the full wrath of the law, It is not acceptable. I do not believe that the Nigerian government has failed yet, the government can rise up to the occasion and bring the full weight of justice to bare on the killers, rapists, kidnappers and bandits.โ€
