Officials of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in compliance with the nationwide industrial action of the organised labour unions on Tuesday morning, shut the
National Assembly, NASS Complex located in the Three Arms Zone, Abuja.
The NLC officials prevented human and vehicular movements from the premises.
Both the Lawmakers of the two Chambers and the Staff of the National Assembly, Journalists and others could not gain access to the complex as the entrances into the Complex were locked.
However, after hot arguments, the Labour Officials opened one of the gates for Journalists during which few others managed to struggle into the Complex.
Both Chambers are yet to be opened as of the time of filling this report.
An official of the Parliamentary Association of Nigeria, PASSAN, NASS Branch, who spoke to newsmen said the directive of the NLC on the ongoing strike action was being effected at NASS.
