The National Association of Ondo State Students (national body) has accused its President, Hammed Oyelade, of embezzling N11 million from the association’s funds.
The money included association dues and other contributions.
In a joint statement issued on Tuesday by Adetoba O. Akinte, Chairman, and Oluwarotimi Oluwatosin, Secretary of the association, the fund was reportedly misappropriated, with the President receiving over N2million, the Senate President over N1million, and other executives pocketing amounts as high as N500,000 each.
The statement demanded that the association’s statement of account be provided to the Senate body within 48 hours to clear up the matter if the alleged persons felt the allegations were untrue.
They said failure to comply with the request for transparency would result in the impeachment of the President and Senate President, along with the immediate suspension of the Treasurer and Financial Secretary.
The statement read, “We write in our capacity as the elected representatives and senators of the National Association of Ondo State Students ( National Body).

“We are concerned about the alleged evil and corruption currently going on in this association under the Hammed Oyelade-led administration.”
According to the statement, “We have been written on the conspiracy between the Senate President and the National President at Akure today, dated 12th November 2024, where the sum of 11 Million Naira only, association dues, and other funds in the association account were allegedly shared, with the President receiving over 2Million naira, the Senate President over 1milion naira, with the least executive who collected 500k.
It said, “We write therefore to the accused persons that, if these allegations were mere fabrications and not true, the Association Statement of Account be made available to the Senate Body within 48 hours.
“Failure to release this statement of account within the stipulated days will lead to the impeachment of the President, Senate President, and immediate suspension of the Treasurer and Financial Secretary of the association.
They added that the implications would be writing to the government officials and immediate arrest of the President by the Nigeria Police Force.
“This letter takes effect from today and copies are to be submitted to all government officials and stakeholders,” they said.
