A 27-year-old supplier, Samuel Oyinloye, has been arraigned before an Osogbo magistrate’s court for allegedly diverting goods worth N1,025,500.
Oyinloye was said to have defrauded one Mufutau Wasiu by obtaining goods valued N1,025,500 under pretence of assisting him to supply them to his customers but converted the proceeds to his own instead.
According to the charge sheet obtained by OSUN DEFENDER yesterday, the defendant committed the alleged offence sometimes in the month of August, 2021 in Osogbo.
The alleged offence, according to the Police, contravened Sections 419 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol.II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
But the accused person pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of fraud and stealing levelled against him.
Defence counsel, Mr. Oladipupo Olatunbosun, prayed the court to admit the defendant to bail on a liberal term, noting that he was ready to stand trial and provide a reliable surety.
Magistrate A.A. Adebayo of the court admitted the accused person to bail in a sum of N1,000,000 with a surety.
The case was adjourned till November 15, 2021 for mention.
