Mr. Daniel Bwala in June 2023, dumped the All Progressives Congress after the party unveiled a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidential election.
In a tweet announcing the decision, Bwala said it was “based on principles and conviction that I hold so dear.
“At this time of our national existence, our efforts and energy should gravitate towards uniting our people.”
After dumping the APC, Bwala joined the opposition Peoples Democratic Party where he was appointed the spokesperson to the party’s Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Bwala has been a staunch critic of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
However, the tune changed on Wednesday after a visit to President Bola Tinubu in Aso Rock where he declared his support and praised the President.
Osun Defender takes a look at some of the criticism of Bwala against Tinubu’s administration.

Tinubu Will Not Get Anything Done In 30 Years
On December 26, 2023, Bwala featured on a Channels Television programme where he tackled Tinubu over the state of the economy.
According to him, Tinubu could not get anything done about the economy even if given 30 years.
Faulting Tinubu for asking Nigerians to be patient with him, Atiku’s aide said the President had less than 70 per cent time of his tenure left.
“When people talk about being patient and waiting, you have to look at the time frame the public officer is expected to execute the work. The President has just been voted into a term of four years. He is eight months into the term which constitutes 31.8 percent of the total time that he has.”
“He has less than 70 per cent time in government, when is that going to happen? When President Buhari took over in 2015 it was the same language and we patiently followed and he finished the first term and finished the second term.
Bwala Slams Tinubu’s ‘Nepotism Pro Max’ Appointments, APC’s Aliyu Disagrees
Bwala on September 18, 2023, faulted President Bola Tinubu’s appointments, describing them as “nepotism pro max”.
Bwala said Tinubu has not been fair in his appointments so far.
“President Bola Tinubu’s appointment is nepotistic and now has earned the status of nepotism pro max 15,” he said on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.
Cabal In Aso Rock After My Life
Bwala also raised the dust in September 2023, when he alleged that some cabals in Tinubu’s administration were after his life.
He said some top people at the Presidential Villa in Abuja are planning to arrest him on trumped-up allegations.
Bwala alleged that based on the credible intelligence he got, some key power holders at the Aso Rock Villa are planning to use the security agencies to arrest him and make trumped-up allegations against him to rubbish and silence him because he is making the government uncomfortable.
He said that he had always known that his rejection of same faith (Muslim-Muslim) ticket which led to his defection from the APC and becoming a political opposition would bring persecution.
He wrote, “Last night I got a credible intelligence that some key people around the seat of power (Presidential Aso Villa) of this government are planning to use the security agencies (s) to arrest me and take me into custody on trumped-up allegations in order to rubbish me and silence me.
“That I am making them and the government uncomfortable. Let the world know today that I have always known that from my stands on the same faith ticket which led to my leaving APC, and consequent posture as a political opposition, it might irk the deep state and come with persecution for what I believe in and stand for.
“If anything happens to me, let the world know today of their evil plans.”
After Bwala’s visit to Tinubu on Wednesday, the question people are asking is; Where is his principle and What has changed?
