The National coordinator, Asiwaju Grassroot Foundation, (AGF) Comrade Olateju Ishola, has counselled the supporters of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Osun to remain calm, and prayerful as supreme court set to deliver its judgment in the appeal of PDP candidate in the 2018 gubernatorial election, Senator Ademola Adeleke, against the victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola at the Court of Appeal.
Ishola, in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists in Osogbo on Tuesday, urged the party faithful to remain peaceful and hopeful, saying there is no cause for alarm.
The AGF National Coordinator who expressed optimism that the Friday supreme court verdict would favor Oyetola said the judgement would vindicate the Governor as APC clearly won the election.
He added the it was obvious that opposition party, PDP and its gubernatorial candidate, are only chasing shadows, recounting how people massively turned out to cast their votes for APC.
Ishola advised PDP and Senator Adeleke to keep supporting the government of the day, saying residents of the state would not afford the state be taken back to the level of retrogression.
“Senator Ademola Adeleke and his supporters knew for sure that APC won that election, but political contractors who are milking the man will not allow him to forgot a forgone issue.
“The people of Osun, know whom they voted for and that’s why they have been supporting the Government of Mr Gboyega Oyetola since November last year”.
He, therefore, urged the supporters and members of public not to be panic as the evidence before the court has made it clear that APC will rule Osun till 2022.
