Suspected Oodua Nation Agitators Attack Amuludun FM, Ibadan

Suspected acclaimed Oodua Nation agitators early today hijacked the Radio Nigeria, Amuludun FM, Moniya, Ibadan, Oyo.

The suspected acclaimed member of Oodua Nation agitators that were about twenty in numbers at about 5:30am, stormed Radio Amuludun and seized the live studio while a sponsored programme was being broadcast.

The suspected group, after they took over the live studio and entire premises of the station started broadcasting.

Among their claims included “Oodua Nation has come to stay” “Yoruba no more under Federal Republic of Nigeria” “United Nation will soon declare Oodua Nation” among others.

The Yoruba Nation agitators broadcast for about an hour.

During the incident, the Policemen at the Moniya Divisional Police Station, Moniya Area Command, Oyo Station Operation Burst and Military from Second Mechanized Division, Odoogbo, Ojoo, Ibadan were called to address the situation.

An eyewitness account told AFM reporter that the security agents called to address the situation where attacked by the suspected group but eventually, the security later overpowered them with arrest of five members of the group.

The suspects arrested have been taken to the Oyo State Police Command, Eleyele, Ibadan.

Efforts to confirm the incident with Oyo state police public relations officer, Mr Adewale Osifeso were unsuccessful as his mobile phone busy.
