Some suspected thugs on Monday stormed the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
The thugs who were reportedly sponsored by some aggrieved lawmakers disrupted plenary in the process.
The aggrieved lawmakers are alleged to be those whose seats were declared vacant by the Speaker of the House.
The thugs were eventually dispersed by police officers who teargassed them and restored normalcy to the premises of the House of Assembly.
The Clerk of the House told Channels Television that the House was meant to sit to discuss 80th birthday celebration of the former governor of the state, Victor Attah.
He added that a notice had earlier been sent out that the sitting which was meant to hold on Tuesday (tomorrow) was rescheduled to hold on Monday only for the thugs to storm the House.
