Femi Gbajabiamila, on Tuesday, arrived in Osun State for an official visit, where he was warmly received by the Governor of the state, Senator Ademola Adeleke. OSUN DEFENDER reports that Gbajabiamila arrived in Osun state for his role as the Guest Lecturer at the maiden edition of the Osun State University (UNIOSUN) Annual Lecture, a landmark event aimed at deepening national conversations on education financing in Nigeria. The Annual Lecture, titled: “Interrogating Funding of Education: Global versus Nigerian Perspectives,” is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 20th May 2025 at 12:00 noon at the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium, Main Campus, Osogbo. Gbajabiamila, who is also a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, will deliver insights on education financing from both international and local policy standpoints. Tragedy struck in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital on Tuesday morning as a yet-to-be-identified secondary school student was reportedly k!lled by a police officer. The student, who is a candidate in the ongoing WAEC examination for SS3 students, was shot on his way to school to write today’s paper. According to sources, the student was k!lled by police officers who opened fire while in pursuit of a Hilux vehicle with the occupants suspected to be internet fraudsters. “Earlier this morning, astray bullet struck a secondary student who was in his father’s car on his way to write is WAEC exam, resulting in his de@th," a source said.
