Tap Into Your Areas Of Strength, Badmus Charges Children

The Supervising Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Osun State, Engr. Olalekan Badmus has charged children to always exploit their areas of strength in their quest to fulfilling their God- given destiny.

The Supervisor gave the charge in Osogbo, the State Capital during the exhibition of the Art works produced by the “Osun Super Kids Arts Club, Osogbo” who were drawn from both private, public primary and secondary schools across the State. He urged them to see themselves as the future of Osun and the Country at large, saying this is why it is necessary for them to keep doing what they can do best.

Engr. Badmus further encouraged them to move fast with the trending technology, adding that it will help them to be able to meet up with their counterparts in the World.

He said: “I want to encourage you all that you should put in your best where your strength is because, this will assist you in fulfilling your destiny. If you love sports put in your best there; If you love art works,do not relent in developing yourself in the area of arts;I must also tell you to see yourselves as the leaders of tomorrow.

” I am very impressed with what I saw here today that these little ones have shown their strength and passion for Arts works and they are developing themselves”, he concluded.

Engr. Badmus further commended the efforts of the Kids for submitting themselves to the training. He also commended their parents for releasing them to join the Club, and their Coordinator for bringing them together from all nooks and crannies of the State.

Engr. Badmus however pledged his support to the Club at all times.

While speaking, the Coordinator of the Club, Prince Adenle Babajide appreciated the Supervising Commissioner for supporting the vision. He however noted that Osun used to be the bedrock of Arts and Culture in Nigeria.

While expressing displeasure over the disconnect between artworks and younger generation, Prince Babajide harped on the need to catch them young so that artworks will not go into extinction.

Prince Babajide explained that, out of 1,000 Kids that were first selected, from across all the local government areas of the State, after series of screening, only 100 of them qualified for the training and were launched into the next generation of Arts that will put Nigeria on the World map.

The Coordinator therefore advised parents to discover the hidden talents in their children, at tender age, pointing out that the seed of greatness is in every child. He also charged the younger ones to believe in themselves, be patient and be persistent in what they know how to do well.

In their separate words of appreciation, Ologunde Peace from Avillar High School, Osogbo and Awosoji Ifeoluwa from Ataoja School of Science, Osogbo, on behalf of other Kids, thanked the Coordinator of the Club for his cooperation, understanding and support.

They confessed that although they did not find the training easy at the initial stage, but on the long run, they were able to catch up with it.

The event featured presentation of artworks to the Supervising Commissioner, Artworks’ exhibition, cultural entertainment, to mention but few.

Present at the event were:the Coordinating Director in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mrs Solabomi Akinsola, management Staff of the Ministry, and Parents among others.
