Students of Obafemi Awolowo University OAU, Ile Ife, could not hold back their tears as a 200-level student, Omoyeni Faith Bukunmi of the Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Arts has been reportedly dead after an undisclosed illness.
The President of Linguistics And African Language Students Association, OAU, Abidemi Abeeb confirmed this in a statement made available to OSUN DEFENDER.
Abeeb said the deceased was said to have been battling the undisclosed illness for two weeks before she gave up at the University College Hospital, Ibadan on Monday Afternoon.
He affirmed that Faith Omoyeni was a student who was dedicated to and diligent in her academics.
He added that Faith Omoyeni was a valued member of the Department of Linguistics and Local Languages.

A lecturer from the department, Dr Akinwumi described the deceased as a well-mannered, brilliant, easy-going, courteous, Godly and brilliant lady.
OSUN DEFENDER recall that on August 20th, 2023, a 300Level student, Oluwaseyi Osuolale of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of SCIENCE, OAU, was also reportedly dead after a prolonged illness.
According to a source, the deceased was said to have been battling with a yet-to-be-disclosed illness for 8 months before she gave up.
