Teenager Loses Sight After Alleged Beating By Father In Osun

The Osun State Police Command has arrested a father, simply identified as Tesojue, who allegedly assaulted his daughter.

In a video obtained by OSUN DEFENDER, the teenage girl was seen with blood dripping from her eye and mouth.

The Executive Director, World Institute for Peace, Lamina Kamiludeen, who posted the video confirmed that the father was arrested by operatives of the Osun State Police, Ataoja Division.

He, however, said the teenage girl lost  her sight as a result of the injury she suffered from the incident.

According to Kamiludeen, the incident occurred at Odetoyinbo Street, behind Ayegbaju market, Osogbo, Osun State capital.

The activist noted that some concerned neighbours called his attention to the incident, adding that the father was reported to have also assaulted the girl’s mother during the incident.

“This horrifying incident was brought to our attention by concerned passersby who witnessed the girl fleeing from her violent father.

“We have also received credible information that he assaulted the girl’s mother during the same episode of violence.

“Our organization has immediately reported this case to the Nigeria Police Force, Osun State Command. We are confident that no matter how hard he tries to evade justice, he will be apprehended and made to face the full weight of the law.

“The man has been arrested this morning. He is currently in police net at Ataoja Police Division, Osogbo, Osun State. Unfortunately, the young girl lost her sight as a result of the injury she sustained from the assault by her cruel father.

“His actions are completely inexcusable and he must be held accountable to serve as a warning to others who may be inclined toward such cruelty,”he wrote.
