Teenager, Others Remanded For Robbing Corps Member In Osun

A Magistrate court sitting in Osogbo, state of Osun presided over by Mrs Awodele Olubukola has on Tuesday ordered that a teenager and three others be remanded in Ilesa prison for armed robbery and attempted murder.

The four accused persons was arraigned on six count charges of conspiracy, armed robbery, felony and attempted murder.

The four suspects namely;  Isaac Awe 18 , Ojo Ayobami 21, Rotimi Adedeji 39 and Segun Adedeji 26.

The police prosecutor, Mr Elisha Olusegun told the court that the four accused committed the offense on April, 18. at  Coppers Lodge Dada Estate in Osogbo.

According to him, the four accused conspired to commit felony to wit: armed robbery.

He said “The four accused persons did armed themselves with guns and other dangerous weapons and rob one Adekanmi Taiwo Uthman of his Toyota Camry envelope car with registration number app780db  valued 1,150,000,  one infinix hot phone valued 24,500, two glasses valued 6,000 seat cover valued 4,500, wallet containing school identity card Of Ladoke Akintola University, his driving license, voters card, three ATM cards of first bank, Wema bank, GT bank and documents of the vehicle total valued 1,185,00.

”Did conspired among yourselves to commit felony to wit: attempted murder.

”Did unlawfully have in their possession one live cartridge which you could not give satisfactory account of.

”Did unlawfully attempted to kill one Adekanmi Taiwo Uthman by stabbing him with broken bottle in his head and right hand.

He further explained that the offense committed by the accused is contrary to and punishable under section 6(b) section 1(1) section 1(2)(a) (b)  section 3(1) section 27 (1) (b)  (11) of the robbery and firearms (special provision)  Act cap Rll  vol. 14 laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 and section 516, section 320 (1) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of osun state 2002.

The first and second accused was represented by Okobe Najite who pleaded on their behalf but their plea was not taken.

The chief magistrate, Mrs Awodele Olubukola in her ruling ordered that they be remanded in Ilesa prison.

The case was adjourned to Nov. 24 for mention.
