The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has named a former House of Representatives candidate, Engr. Benjamin Adereti has the deputy governorship candidate of the party.
Adereti who is from Ile-Ife, contested the 2023 House of Representatives election against the incumbent Taofeek Ajilesoro and lost.

OSUN DEFENDER reports that the APC has earlier submitted the name of a former Chief Whip of the State House of Assembly, Hon Tunde Olatunji as the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the party.
However, sources told OSUN DEFENDER that the former lawmaker was a placeholder for the party to settle on who would deputise its candidate, Mr Bola Oyebamiji.
Similarly, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has named Mrs Temitope Yemisi Agiri as its deputy governorship.
According to the document released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Agiri who hails from Ila Orangun would deputise the former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Najeem Salam.
Meanwhile, Governor Ademola Adeleke retained Prince Kola Oyewusi as his deputy.
Oyewusi like Adereti comes from Ile-Ife with political observers noting that the votes from the region might be shared between the Accord Party where Governor Adeleke will contest and the APC.
