An intending tenant has vanished with two children in the Igando area of Ilesa, Osun State, leaving the community in shock and distress.
The tenant, whose name has yet to be identified, allegedly abducted the children, aged four and two, on Saturday after renting a room in a shared building.
The suspect reportedly paid N6,000 for six months’ rent to an existing tenant in the house, without providing any form of identification or receiving an official receipt from the landlord.
According to residents, the woman, described as being between 17 and 20 years old, fair-skinned, with a low haircut and fixed nails, pretended to be pregnant and integrated herself with the children’s mothers before disappearing with them.
Funke Komolafe, the mother of one of the missing girls, said neighbors saw the tenant leaving the house with the children, claiming she was taking them to buy something nearby.
“When I couldn’t find my daughter, I was told the new tenant had taken her and my neighbor’s daughter away,” Komolafe said.
The second victim’s mother, Itunu Joseph, recounted how the tenant had sat with them for hours before walking away with the children.

“She acted friendly and played with the kids before disappearing. We haven’t seen her or the children since,” Joseph added.
Witnesses reported seeing the woman board a motorcycle with the children at a nearby junction, where she later transferred to another bike. Despite efforts to trace her movements, the children have not been found.
The case has been reported to the Osun State Police and the Amotekun Corps.
The state corps Commander, Adekunle Omoyele confirmed the incident, stating, “We are working diligently to locate the woman and the children. By God’s grace, we will find them soon.”
