Terrorists Abduct Six In Adamawa Gov’s Hometown
Suspected terrorists on Tuesday attacked Madagali, the hometown of Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, kidnapping six family members.
The attack occurred in Gare Village, Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area of the state.
Confirming the incident in a statement issued on Tuesday, the spokesman for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said security operatives had launched a joint search-and-rescue operation to secure the release of the abducted victims.
“The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed an attack on Gare Village, Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area, in the early hours of today by suspected terrorists, which led to the abduction of six family members and the rustling of livestock,” the statement read.
Nguroje said the command had immediately deployed additional personnel and operational assets to the area in collaboration with other security agencies.
“Upon receipt of the report, the Command immediately intensified collaboration and deployed additional personnel and operational assets in a joint operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, Troops of 144 Battalion, and the Civilian Joint Task Force to the affected area and surrounding communities,” he said.
The police spokesman also noted that the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, Dankombo Morris, has ordered sustained operations to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and prevent further attacks.
“The Commissioner of Police has directed sustained search-and-rescue operations, reinforced patrols, and beefed up security presence across Madagali and other border communities to ensure the safe rescue and return of the victims and prevent further threats,” Nguroje added.
He stressed that security agencies remained committed to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
“The command in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and other sister security agencies, remains fully committed to protecting lives and properties across the State,” he said, noting that “further updates will be communicated.”
