Funke Akindele Becomes Africa’s Highest-Grossing Filmmaker

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has etched her name in history after her latest film, Behind The Scenes, grossed ₦2.1 billion, making it the first West African film to cross the ₦2 billion mark at the box office.

The achievement also crowns Akindele as Africa’s highest-grossing filmmaker of all time, with the movie topping box office charts in Africa, the UK, and Ireland.

Confirming the feat, FilmOne Entertainment announced that the film “has officially broken and shattered records,” adding that Akindele is now the first filmmaker to rank number one at the African box office for three consecutive years.

Directed by Akindele and Tunde Olaoye, the film features a star-studded cast and centres on a successful real estate entrepreneur whose generosity begins to threaten her private life.

Singer Harrysong has revealed he is now in a polygamous relationship following his separation from his wife, Alexer Peres.

Speaking on Yanga FM Lagos, the Reggae Blues crooner said all his girlfriends are aware of one another and consented to the arrangement.

“There is nothing wrong with polygamous relationships,” Harrysong said, insisting everyone involved is treated “right and respectfully.” He also disclosed that some of his partners are foreigners, including an American.

His comments come months after a messy breakup that involved allegations and counter-allegations between the former couple.

Popular influencer Tunde Ednut has alleged that actress Regina Daniels’ public appearance with an alleged new boyfriend abroad triggered the arrest of her best friend, Ann, by Senator Ned Nwoko.

Ann was arrested on Monday over theft and other allegations reportedly made by the senator. Reacting, Ednut urged Nwoko to “move on,” accusing him of using his influence to intimidate those close to Regina.
“It’s that picture of her alleged new boyfriend’s hand on her hips that triggered this arrest,” Ednut claimed, calling on the senator to focus on his legislative duties.

Comedienne Princess has publicly appealed to prominent pastors to help her find a husband, declaring she is determined to be married in 2026.

The divorced entertainer said she has prayed and fasted and is now backing her faith with action. “I am tired. I must be married in 2026,” she said, adding that she expects to be engaged by September and will not tolerate mockery.

TikToker Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has opened up about his traumatic one-week detention following his arrest after a car crash on the Lekki-Epe Expressway.

Peller said the incident was accidental and described his time in custody as mentally draining, lamenting that many celebrities he reached out to ignored his calls.
