The Nigerian entertainment scene continues to buzz with exciting events and drama, from fairytale weddings to celebrity boxing matches.
Here’s today’s news from the world of entertainment:
Davido’s Daughter Imade, Mohbad’s Son Liam Grace Priscilla and Juma’s Wedding
The white wedding of Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux took center stage this weekend, with star-studded appearances that thrilled fans and netizens alike.
Imade Adeleke, daughter of superstar Davido, charmed guests as a little bridesmaid, while Liam Aloba, the son of the late Mohbad, carried out ring bearer duties. The event, tagged #JP2025, quickly topped social media trends, celebrated for its emotional highlights and celebrity presence.
The lavish celebration follows a string of prior ceremonies: a traditional wedding in Tanzania in February, a civil wedding, and another grand traditional wedding in Lagos. According to Iyabo Ojo, the final lap of festivities will be held in Tanzania this May.
The couple’s romance has been described as a union of “two hearts united as one soul,” and fans swooned over their pre-wedding portraits and Juma’s second proposal to Priscilla, featuring a more dazzling engagement ring.
Burna Boy Gifts Portable N20m After Defeating Speed Darlington in Celebrity Boxing Match
In a different spotlight, Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has gifted street-hop singer Portable a whopping N20 million to celebrate his recent victory over Speed Darlington in the much-publicized celebrity boxing match dubbed “Chaos in the Rings.”
Speed Darlington reportedly broke his arm in the first round and couldn’t continue, handing Portable the win. Burna Boy, who has had a rocky past with Speed Darlington, used the opportunity to support Portable in grand fashion. Portable took to Instagram to thank Burna Boy, writing: “20 million from @burnaboygram. If you wanna be like Odogwu, can you do like Odogwu?”
Speed Darlington Cries Foul, Demands Rematch
Meanwhile, Speed Darlington is demanding a rematch, accusing Portable of having an unfair advantage due to prior boxing experience and even hinting at the use of “supernatural powers” in the ring. He claimed he suffered a shoulder injury and expressed his frustration over losing the prize money, which he planned to use for a community swimming pool project in Imo State.
“It’s so unfair. You have up to two experience before me and you fight. I never enter ring before… I want a rematch. Give me 30 days,” he declared in a viral video.
From glamorous weddings to boxing drama, the entertainment industry is as vibrant and unpredictable as ever. Stay tuned for more trending stories on your favorite Nigerian celebrities.
