December 1st has been fixed for the local government election in Ondo State by the State Independent Electoral Commission has fixed Dec. 1 for the local government election in the state.
The Chairman of the commission, Prof. Yomi Dinakin, made this known in Akure on Wednesday while addressing a stakeholders meeting.
Dinakin said the proposed election was in line with Section 30 of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended and Schedule 4 Paragraph 1 of the Local Government System Establishment and Administration Law of Ondo State (2006).
According to the guidelines released by the commission, chairmanship aspirants are to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of N50,000 while those seeking councillorship positions are to pay N20,000.
