“The Suffering Is Too Much”: Elderly Man Stages Lone Protest In Kano Over Economic Hardship (Photos)

An elderly man on Thursday staged a lone protest in Kano streets to register his grievances over the harsh economic situation in Nigeria.

According to Daily Trust, the elderly man, dressed in white, was spotted marching along the Farwa-Marriri axis of the well-known Maiduguri highway. He carried placards with inscriptions in Hausa.

The man was visibly protesting as he moved through the area, holding up signs written in the local language.

He said, “The suffering is too much; we must register our grievances. It’s our right to do so.”

As of the time of filing this reports, major streets in Kano were empty but men of the Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were found at strategic locations.
