Thousands Join Omoluabi Progressives In Ijesaland
- As Caucus Concludes Federal Constituency Tour
Members of different associations, groups, and caucuses from major political parties in Ijesaland on Thursday formally joined the Omoluabi Progressives, a caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Osun.
This is as the caucus rounded off its tour of federal constituencies in the state with a visit to the Ijesa South Federal Constituency.
The caucus chairman, Alhaji Azeez Adesiji thanked all members for their relentless support in reaching its desired zenith.
He assured the new members of equal treatment, saying that the caucus is guided by the Omoluabi ethos of character, competence, integrity, and responsible leadership.

Adesiji expressed satisfaction with the turnout of members so far at the nine federal constituencies of the state and urged them to continue to bring more people into the fold.
The Chairman said, “I welcome the new members to the fold. We are Omoluabi, people of refined character, competence, integrity, and responsibility in leadership. Our core values are rooted in discipline as a major way of entrenching good governance in the state.
“Our focus is not just political power but building a legacy of ideology in pragmatic leadership. Ours is to reform and redirect the focus of progressives to good governance and competent party administration, which gives a voice to all members, who contribute to its affairs.
“I want to reassure us all that our doors are open for consultations, advice, and reports on how your meetings are faring. I want to assure you that we are here for you, and we will do everything to make sure that every member is incorporated in the scheme of things.
“Our visitation to members across the state will not end with this tour. We will continue to make physical and unscheduled visits to the meetings of the Omoluabi Progressives at the ward and local government levels. This is to make sure we are all doing what is expected of us. We will also reward leaders and members of the local government that is more vibrant in our activities.
Receiving the state leadership of the caucus in his palace, the Owa-Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran lauded the activities of the Omoluabi Progressives.
Oba Aromolaran, who noted that the root of the Omoluabis is traced to Ijesaland, prayed for the success of its activities of that of its patron, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
The monarch also urged the caucus to continue to propagate the peace of the state, as good governance can only thrive in a peaceful atmosphere.
In their separate remarks, the former Acting Chairman of the APC in Osun, Revd ‘Lowo Adebiyi, a former state treasurer of Osun APC, Hon. Segun Olanibi, and a party leader in Ijesaland, Hon. Francis Famurewa appealed to members of the caucus to be united in its resolve to reclaiming the state in 2026.
They assured of their readiness to continuously engage the requisite stakeholders for the continued progress of the caucus.
Earlier in his welcome address, Dr. Akin Komolafe, the coordinator of Omolaubi Progressives Caucus in the Ijesa South federal constituency expressed gratitude to the state leadership for its laudable direction so far, urging members to give the committee their unflinching support.
As usual, members sang solidarity songs in line with the tradition of progressive politics.
