THE Osun State Command of the South-West Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps, has disclosed that it has arrested three suspected members of a gang that specialised in exhuming corpses and selling their parts for ritual purposes in Iwo.

The suspects are 43-year-old mechanic, Kamilu Kehinde (43), a driver, Akeem Hamzat (56) and herbalist, Wakeel Baka.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the command, Mr Adeniyi Adeshola, the suspects were arrested following intelligence reports by the operatives of the agency in Iwo.

Adeshola said the suspects made confessional statements that they were into the business of exhuming corpses from their graves.

He added that they confessed to selling the dead body parts to buyers who need them for money rituals.

The spokesperson disclosed that the State Commander of the Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi (Rtd), has directed that the suspects be transferred to the police for discreet investigation and possible prosecution.

Adewinmbi, according to the spokesperson, encouraged residents of the state to be more security conscious and ensure they report any suspicious activities around them to the agency.
