Three Cops Allegedly Kill Kwara Poly Student
Three police officers have been detained over the alleged murder of the ND 2 Electronic Engineering student of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Abdulqoyyum Abdulyekeen Ishola.
The arrested police officers allegedly killed the late student last Wednesday at GRA area of Ilorin metropolis.
The three officers were identified as Abiodun Kayode, Inspector James Emmanuel and Sergeant Oni Philip, attached to the department of operations, Kwara state police command.
A memo with Ref.No CZ.5300/FpRD/FHQ/ABJ/Voll.6/230, dated September 9,2024, indicated that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the Homicide section of the FCID Abuja to embark on a detailed and comprehensive investigation into the alleged killing of the student.

The officers were consequently detained for investigation.
“The Inspector-General of Police who is deeply saddened by this unfortunate event that has led to the loss of a young Nigerian, expresses his deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased.
“He acknowledged the profound grief and loss caused by this unfortunate act and reassured the family and members of the public that justice will be served,” a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Force headquarters, Abuja, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated.
