Three Die Of Cholera Outbreak In Benue

Three persons have been confirmed dead of a cholera outbreak in the last two weeks in Benue State.

The Benue State Epidemiologist, Dr Henry Ijabo, confirmed the development to newsmen.

Dr Ijabo also stated that out of the 13 cases of cholera outbreak so far, 10 are under observation.

He urged people to stop open defecation and highlighted that there is currently no vaccine for the disease as it is not included in routine immunization programmes.

Places where the disease is most prevalent according to Ijabo include, Agatu, Ado, and Otukpo local government areas in the Benue South senatorial zone.

He appealed to people to maintain high standards of hygiene in their environment and surroundings.
