Three Remanded For Vandalising Osun Water Corporation’s Pipes

A Magistrate Court sitting in Ede, Osun State, has reportedly remanded three persons for allegedly vandalising water pipes belonging to the state Water Corporation.
The defendants, who were arraigned on Monday, April 14, pleaded not guilty to the charge against them and were subsequently remanded in Ife Correctional Centre.
The defendants, Michael Odeniran (43), Ganiyu Mutiu Olalekan (32), and Muritala Ridwan (32), were arrested and prosecuted by the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The suspect, according to a statement by the command spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke, the defendants were arrested on April 10, 2025, at about 11:00 am at Oloki Reservoir Site via Akoda, along Gbongan-Osogbo road, Osun State.
The state NSCDC Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, explained that a discreet investigation revealed that the suspects, who are laterite miners, damaged a 450mm pipe while mining laterite.
Commandant Sotiyo warns those vandalising government infrastructure to desist from such acts or face the consequences.
“NSCDC is committed to protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, and those found culpable will be brought to justice,” the Osun NSCDC boss said.
