Many people were injured at Akarabata line 1 in Modakeke, State of Osun after hoodlums believed to be members of rival gangs fought dirty over a lady.

Our correspondent learnt that the fight which occurred on Thursday morning was  as a result of a long-standing rift between two rival gangs who had been in war over a lady they both met at a club on Valentine’s day.

The two rival gangs popularly called Odi and Oju Ina exchanged blows with each other which led to injuries for many.

A police source who craved anonymity, told our correspondent that fighting among the hoodlums had become a weekly affair and the police authorities were working on how to find a lasting solution to the problem.

He said, “Around 9am, we received a distress call that hoodlums were fighting at Akarabata line 1, we rushed down to the scene.

“Immediately we arrived there, the hoodlums took to their heels. The violence has become rampant now. Very soon, an armoured tank will be stationed there permanently to deter hoodlums from fighting.”
