Timi Frank Condemns Killing of Nine Protesters in Adamawa
Former APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Timi Frank, has strongly condemned the killing of nine protesting women in Yola, Adamawa State, allegedly by military operatives.
In a statement in Abuja on Friday, Frank described the incident as “senseless, unforgivable, inhuman, and avoidable.”
He said the victims, who were ordinary women, mothers, and breadwinners, had stepped out to protest the insecurity plaguing their communities, but were met with lethal force while only seeking protection for their children.
“Their only offense was demanding safety,” he lamented.
Frank called for an end to the culture of violence and unaccountability, urging both federal and state governments to provide full compensation to the families, including scholarships for the victims’ children and long-term welfare support to prevent households from being plunged into destitution. “These women must not die in vain,” he said.
He also appealed to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate military abuses in Nigeria and across Africa, noting, “The U.S. has shown willingness to stand with oppressed African citizens. We appeal for that moral leadership now.
“The killing of the Yola Nine is a tragedy Nigeria must not ignore. Justice must be non-negotiable, accountability immediate, and this barbarism must never happen again,” Frank said.
