President Bola Tinubu has announced a provisional wage increment of N25,000 monthly for low-grade workers for the next six months.
In his 63rd Independence Day speech delivered on Sunday, the president said the increment would enhance the federal minimum wage without increasing the inflation rate.
“Based on our talks with labour, business and other stakeholders, we are introducing a provisional wage increment to enhance the federal minimum wage without causing undue inflation,” the president said.
“For the next six months, the average low-grade worker shall receive an additional twenty-five thousand naira per month.”
