Tinubu Approves Upgrade of Nasarawa Specialist Clinic To Teaching Hospital
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his approval for the upgrade of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia, Nasarawa State, into the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital.
This development is expected to enhance healthcare delivery and medical education in the state.
The approval follows a request by the Nasarawa State Government and is in line with the federal government’s efforts to improve healthcare services across the country.
This was stated in a communiqué by the Special Adviser to the President, Ajuri Ngelale, on Wednesday.
The statement was titled, ‘Tinubu Approves Takeover and Conversion of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital to the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital, Nasarawa.’
Ngelale said, “Recurring environmental disasters underscore the urgency of sustaining measures to address climate change and its perils, as well as removing man-made elements contributing to the challenge.”
He noted that the administration will continue to invest aggressively in the healthcare sector to meet the needs of all citizens.

The statement read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the takeover and conversion of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia, to the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital, Nasarawa, following a request by the Nasarawa State Government.
“The conversion of the health facility to a federal teaching hospital will not only enhance the training of students in medical and allied sciences but also boost healthcare delivery in the state.
“President Tinubu remains committed to ensuring the social welfare and healthcare security of Nigerians and will aggressively sustain his administration’s investment drive and efforts in the sector.”
