Tinubu Commiserates With Victims Of Canadian Embassy Inferno
President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with the Canadian Government and the victims of the fire incident which occurred at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja on Monday.
In a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu assured the Canadian authorities of the full support of the Nigerian government in the aid of diplomatic and local staff of the High Commission who were particularly affected by the incident.
Osun Defender had earlier reported that a fire incident that occurred at the High Commission of Canada to Nigeria, located in the Central Business District of Abuja, claimed two lives, leaving two others injured and hospitalised with severe burns.
The Head of Operations of the FCT Fire Service, Amiola Adebayo, who confirmed the incident in a phone interview with newsmen noted that two people were fatally injured in the incident, while about three or four other victims had been rushed to hospitals.
The statement which conveyed the Presidentโs condolences read, โPresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu sympathises with the Canadian government, the diplomatic community, and all persons affected by a fire incident which occurred on Monday at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja.
โThe President assures the Canadian authorities of the full support of the Nigerian government in the aid of diplomatic and local staff of the High Commission who were particularly affected by the incident.
โPresident Tinubu prays for the repose of the departed souls and wishes all injured persons a rapid and full recovery.โ
