Withheld Salaries: Tinubu Directs Finance, Education Ministries To Work Out Modalities For Payment

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday, directed the Ministers of Finance, Wale Edun and Education, Prof Tahir Mamman to work out the modalities for the payment of four months withheld salaries to the university non-teaching staff.

This is as the organized labour reported the Commission of Police, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Command to the President over the forceful stoppage of the peaceful protest to register their grievances over their withheld salaries.

Osun Defender reports that members of NASU and SSANU who converged in Abuja on Thursday morning for the protest were restricted by the police.

President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the closed-door meeting between the President and the organized labour.
