The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections, Bola Tinubu, has pulled out of a live presidential debate scheduled for 7:30pm today (Sunday).
Tinubu was earlier billed to attend the debate alongside candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party-Peter Obi and that of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso.
But in a terse post on its social media pages on Sunday evening, Arise TV, which is organising the debate in collaboration with the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), said the presidential candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Kola Abiola, would now take part in the event instead of Tinubu.

The debate according to the organisers would focus on economy and security.
It was gathered that 24 hours to the debate, Tinubu and Atiku did not confirm their attendance while Obi and Kwankwaso reached out to the the organizers to acknowledge the invitation.
