Tinubu’s Broadcast Empty, Lacks Solutions – Bauchi Gov
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed on Tuesday, said the recent broadcast by Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, on the ongoing nationwide hunger protests was empty, adding that it lacks solutions to protesters’ major demands.
The Governor said this shortly after an expanded security meeting with religious and traditional leaders in Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria, according to AIT.
Osun Defender reports that violence has been recorded in the Northern part of the country since the protest commenced.
In Bauchi state, there was violence in Katagum Local Government Area where government and private properties were reportedly destroyed, including the Government Lodge and the Local Government Secretariat Complex, among others.
This formed part of the reasons why the State government convened an emergency stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday.
Addressing Journalists shortly after the meeting, Bauchi State Governor Mohammed, sympathised with the people over the current situation in the country, stating that though the President’s recent broadcast did not hit directly on the demands of the protesters, Nigerians should be patient as their voices have been heard.
Governor Bala Mohammed said he is in support of the youths, but not those unleashing havoc and mayhem on the society, even as he equally condemned the destruction of properties in Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The Governor warned that his administration will not allow the breakdown of law and order in the state, urging members of the public to support security agents in that regard.
