Tinubu’s Response To Atiku/Obi’s Appeal, New EFCC Chairman And Other Newspaper Headlines Today

The response of President Bola Tinubu on the appeal against the judgment of the presidential election tribunal and the appointment of a new chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), dominate the front pages of Nigerian newspapers today, October 13.

Daily Independent reports that Yemi Cardoso, the governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), said that the apex bank is targeting a gross domestic product (GDP) of $1 trillion in eight years.

Daily Trust reports that experts have faulted the appointment of Olukoyode as EFCC boss, saying the president breached provisions of EFCC Act 2004. The newspaper says the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has commenced the tracking of N500 billion constituency projects.
