1. PIDOM: Whistleblower Remanded In Kuje Prison

The Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday arraigned the detained whistleblower journalist, Isaac Bristol popularly known as PIDOMNIGERIA on social media.

He was arraingned on nine count charges bordering on money laundering, cybercrime and unlawfully obtaining, retaining and disseminating classified official secret documents.

He was arranged before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court Abuja on Tuesday.

2. Police Arrest Herbalist Over Alleged Rape Of ‘Client’

Operatives of the Adamawa Police Command have arrested a 49-year-old herbalist, Suleiman Manzo, over allegation bordering on rape.

The arrested suspect, popularly called Suleiman Makeri, a resident of Mallam Nura ward in Numan town, was apprehended followed complaint of sexually abusing one of his clients, a 22-year-old woman who went to seek traditional medication.

According to the survivor, (name withheld), spent almost a week in a ward constructed for patients in the suspect’s residence, after administering a scent that made her unconscious.

It was observed that many filling stations were not selling the product, while long queues were seen at the few selling.

In a detailed statement signed by him which was seen by Osun Defender on Tuesday, Akinnola highlighted the historical significance of treasonable felony trials in Nigeria, warning against the misuse of such charges.

Akinnola traced the first treasonable felony trial in Nigeria to 1961, involving Joseph Tarka and others, who were eventually acquitted. He also referenced the most prominent case in 1962, where the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and 30 others were convicted for allegedly plotting to overthrow the government of Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.
